Giving you tools for Forest School 17 June 2016

Posted by FSLI_Admin on May 16, 2016

A one-day conference which gives Forest School practitioners the chance to get their hands dirty and ‘learn by doing’ is taking place in Gloucestershire on 17 June.

‘Embracing Outdoor Learning’ covers a range of topics including sustainable site management, understanding flora and fauna, tool skills, safe use and activities for an open fire,  and health and safety. A session led by FSLI director Chris Dee will share the team’s experience developing Forest School in Shanghai during the last six months, and the challenge of crossing cultures. Chris will also be discussing how to create a ‘wild’ experience in urban settings, drawing on the team’s experience in some of the most disadvantaged boroughs in London and other cities.

We’ll have our own experienced team of trainers on hand so you can chat informally one-to-one, and the day aims to give you inspiration, practical skills and fresh enthusiasm to take back to your own Forest School setting.”

The conference will be held at the Redwood Education Centre, Gossington, Slimbridge Glos GL13 9HH.

Conference fee: £80 + VAT. To book, please contact the office on 01242 602476 or by email
